On Wednesday 1st May 2019, The Right Honourable Viscount Younger of Leckie and The Right Honourable Theresa Villiers MP officially opened Ashmole Primary School. The special guests had a tour of the school and they officially cut the ribbon in the new school hall in front of the children, staff, parents and governors. Refreshments followed for all the guests in the new Community room and Hall.
The new two-form entry school building opened in September 2018 and was completed by Morgan Sindall, the construction and infrastructure company. The school currently has 180 pupils in Reception, Year One and Year Two. It will eventually accommodate up to 420 pupils from Reception up to Year Six. The new school is part of the Ashmole Trust and has very close links with the very successful Ashmole Academy. The two schools work closely sharing staff, facilities and preparing pupils for the step on to secondary education. With the support of the Academy’s Music Department, instrumental lessons have commenced for pupils in Year Two.
The children have settled in very well in their new building with the excellent facilities available. The modern building allows Ashmole Primary School to fulfil their vision to provide the very best standards in education for all their children. The building allows the school to deliver a broad, balanced and creative curriculum with many extra-curricular activities already on offer. The school has a basketball/ five a side hard court; a new library; a computing area and a cooking bay.
The children have enjoyed learning in their new classrooms and playing in their new playground environment, which includes climbing frames. Everyone associated with the school is thrilled and very proud of the new school building.
